Alva Groups was founded in 2017 by a buying director, a brand sales lead, and two ex-Shopify engineers — all of whom had spent years inside retail and wholesale operations and watched the wholesale buying experience stagnate while consumer commerce sprinted forward. We built a platform that respects the operational realities of working wholesale: vetted brands, transparent pricing, integrated reorder, and the kind of operational support that distinguishes a platform from a directory.
How we vet brands
Every brand on the platform completes a wholesale-readiness review — pricing structure transparency, MAP enforcement, fulfillment capacity, returns policies, and existing retail track record. We say no to roughly 60% of brand applications, which is uncomfortable for the rejected brands but essential for the buyers who need a vetted catalogue they can trust.
